Shepherd Race Report:
Last weekend the German Championship 1/8th was held at the MCK Dormagen track in the West of Germany. In class 1 as well as in class 2 Team Shepherd had good chances to claim this years titles. After qualification Lars Hoppe (3rd position), Oliver Mack (6th position) and Daniel Sieber (8th position) were in a good position to reach the class 1 main final. Additionally Maxi Vogl qualfied for the semi-final on 12th position. Competing in class 2 Torsten Müller also did a great job and was ranked on 2nd position after qualifying.
On Sunday Oliver Mack again was in good shape and won the semi-final B in the expert class with Daniel Sieber finishing on 4th position also reaching the main final. Maxi Vogl was also on a good pace but unfortunately his Novarossi engine broke after only 7 minutes and he had to retire. Also Lars Hoppe was unlucky as he had a crash caused by a loose screw loosing a lot of time.
The class 1 final was very exciting with a lot of changes of positions. Oliver Mack was running on a promising position but a broken one-way bearing ended his quest for the title. Daniele Sieber managed to climb up the order step by step with his constant driving and finished on the 2nd place at the German Championship in his first nitro season ever.
Torsten Müller had a great day cruising to the victory in his semi-final as well as in the main final. Starting from 2nd position in the main final he took over the lead after few minutes and never looked back. With the incredible gap of 9 laps he crossed the finishing line in first position claiming the class 2 championship title!
