The IFMAR World's for 1/10th scale electric off-road kicks off Sunday, check out Tyler's 5 racers to watch going into one of the most anticipated events in a long time! Let us know in the comments who tops your list!
Spencer Rivkin:
Spencer is the reigning 2wd Modified world champion, as well as the back to back ROAR 4wd modified national champion. This event is essentially being held in his backyard and at a track he has had great success at in the past. Rivkin is the top of the list and coming in with a healthy amount of confidence and swagger.
Dakotah Phend:
Dakotah Phend is the constant threat at any event in any class, he is also the back to back ROAR 2wd modified national champion. Based on recent results Dakotah might more confidence heading into the 2wd Modified portion of the event later next week but he is the Clash of Champions winner in 2wd and 4wd from earlier this year as well as the 4wd carpet national champion. Dakotah is most likely Spencer's biggest threat pure speed wise for the rest of the week.
Broc Champlin:
Broc is one of the most adaptable 1/10th scale drivers I have personally seen, no matter the surface or situation he somehow figures out a way to make speed. Recently his race craft has sharpened and he seems to have learned more of how to give and take in situations to create the best outcome for himself. He has been on the podium in most of the major events if not winning in the past year and considering we will be in a weird situation with no tire sauce, I think he will be able to adapt quickly.
Michal Orlowski:
While being known more for his carpet endeavors across the pond, Michal is probably consistently one of the biggest European threats to the World Championship. He was able to make the mains at the Worlds Warm-up event and if anyone is going to figure things out with a lack of experience on the surface it will likely be him. The current European champion seems poised and confident to get this event going.
Bruno Coelho:
It seems strange to have the current 4wd world champion at the bottom of my list but that was a long 4 years ago. Bruno had a tougher time than the rest at the World's Warmup but he is a 2 time world champion for a reason. 4wd is typically his class so if he is going to make another one of these happen I would expect it to be in 4wd.
