First off Tennessee is a very long state, as I am typing this my dad and I are driving through the state and are still 6 hours from White Pine where the Psycho Nitro Blast event is located. Have to say though after everything that has gone on this year it seems like everyone is really excited to get to the event. I'm hoping that extends to following all the rules Dave and the crew have set in place to ensure our safety in this interesting time.
At the sharp end of the field it looks like we are going to have some wild competition at this event. It has been a while since we have referenced the Top25rc rankings, but it looks like we will have 8-9 of the drivers from the list in attendance. (Tebo, Maifield, Rivkin, Bornhorst, Cavalieri, Ogden, Phend, Drake, and Jelin) There is a solid list of 10-15 behind those guys who could all legitimately on the right day make the mains and compete at that level.
Beyond that there are plenty of other classes that could provide some wild and exciting racing to make for a well rounded weekend.
The track looks fantastic, a whoop section, a tilled section, some big jumps (but not too big) and some neat looking angled jumps around a open fast layout should make for exciting racing. Can't wait to get out there and mix it up with all the men and women at the event.
Good luck and safe travels to everyone on their way today. LiveRC will not be doing day by day coverage at this but you can find all the video and timing-and-scoring at www.pnb.liverc.com/live.
