Barnstormers RC Raceway hosted over 230 entries for its fourth annual Big Apple Novarossi Nitro Challenge this past weekend, bringing the fastest 1/8-scale off-road racers from around the Northeast - and a couple of international stars - to Chester, NY for two days of race - and rain. For the second year in a row the event was affected by weather, with rain cutting into Friday's practice but also washing away one of the qualifying rounds scheduled for Saturday - necessitating a change to the planned schedule. Former European Champion Renaud Savoya dominated the premier Nitro Buggy class, leading every lap of the final from the TQ spot on the grid, and was the only one to challenge Cole Ogden in the E-Buggy class before the Georgia native sped off to win both legs of the A-Main in the class. Anthony Mazzara was the best Truck-class driver of the weekend, winning both the Nitro and Electric divisions.
