The 17.5 1/12 class at 2013 ROAR Carpet Nationals was ultra competitive. Qualifying rounds that saw the top 3 cars finish .04 of second apart from each other. And the difference between making the A Main or watching it was .02 of a second. After qualifying 3rd overall Mark Smyka used the advantage of the Viper VTX1 to win one of tightest spec class battles scene in a long time. Mark’s VTX1 was a tuned to provide smooth running and ample power for the beginning and end of the race when time counted most.
Mark’s National Title is his first after many years of racing different classes. This is also Viper’s first On-Road National Championship and second overall (after winning 2011 Off-Road 17.5 National Championship). Viper would like to congratulate Mark and thank him for his hard work and dedication.
