The race of remote-controlled cars is serious. If for some, these miniature cars are nothing more than a distant memory of childhood, others have found a real passion that has resulted in profession.

These cars that can be described as luxury toys can cost more than $ 3,000. Unlike those that can be purchased at any big-box store, they are mounted piece by piece and must be kept as a real tank. Nitro models, which run on gasoline, must even stop for pit stops .

More than 130 drivers, including two former world champions from outside the country, gathered in Napierville at the end of August to compete in the largest remote-controlled car competition in the province's history: the fifth edition of the Quebec Classic.

We were there to live the fever of remote control and better understand this unknown phenomenon that has existed for more than forty years.
