X Factory and OldMan Billy have teamed up to bring you the Cash Dash Race­ at this year’s MidWinter Championship.  The unique Cash Dash is already adding fun and anticipation to the long-running MidWinter held at the Ohio R/C Factory the second weekend in January.   OldMan Billy wanted to add a fun and exciting feature to the iconic MidWinter, and he came up with a great idea.

Two special 5 minute races will be held, one each in Mod Buggy and 4WD Mod, featuring the top 10 qualifiers.  Each race will pay $1,000 in cash prizes, $500 to win, $300 for second, and $200 for third.  Here’s the exciting kicker:  THE STARTING GRID WILL BE INVERTED!   That’s right, first on the grid will be the 10th qualifier.  9th qualifier will start second, and so on.  Championship race TQ will start last!  So we’ll see how the top pro drivers work their way cleanly through the field while chasing the big bucks.  And we’ll answer the question:  Can the 10th qualifier hold off the big pros for five minutes?  Of course, everyone will be battling for the big money.

We think qualifying will be very interesting.  First, there are bump-ups at the MidWinter, but only the top 10 qualifiers will be in the Cash Dash, so there’s a premium on making the A.  Qualifying 11th gives you a good shot to bump up to the A in the MidWinter, but you won’t be in the Cash Dash, so that will make some drivers very desperate late Saturday in that 4th qualifyer.  Also, for the Cash Dash, some drivers might decide it’s better to qualify 9th or 10th than 6th, because 10 & 9 are front row for the money race.  So maybe some drivers might sand bag just a little in qualy 4.

Now X Factory and OldMan Billy can announce the two Cash Dash races will be televised live on Live R/C, one of our great co-sponsors.  We can’t be certain exactly what time on Sunday Jan 13, 2019 the Cash Dash will be held, so if I were you I’d start watching Live R/C no later than 10AM.  The Cash dash races will be between then and the start of the As.  X Factory and OldMan Billy welcome Live R/C as a Cash Dash sponsor.  We also are proud to have The Ohio R/C Factory and DJO Race Designs as sponsors.
