Doctors told him he probably will never walk unassisted. Today he is off his crutches and walking with ankle/leg supports!

New ProductsSerpent has announced that their new Cobra Be 2.0 electric 1:8 buggy is getting set to be released. They have left us with very little detail of the new updated buggy, but from comparison of the pics below we what we can tell the new buggy possibly features new towers (rear especially as the shocks mount to the front), the plastic mudguards replaced by lightweight lexan, slightly different body, new wheels, and misc. other obvious changes. We expect the BIG upgrades to be under the hood. Stay tuned as we bring you more on the Cobra Be 2.0 soon!

Race ResultsAfter qualifying was over, Landen was sitting on top with the TQ out of the 66 entries in the Short Course Class. With most drivers using Super Soft compounds, Landen stuck with his game plan to use his Pro-Line ION MC tires on his Kyosho SC-R. Race ResultsBilly Fischer, used the Novak Activ8 w/Super Tuner, and Ballistic8 1.5T to power his Team Losi Racing Eight through a stunning qualifying performance. Billy was able to secure a 2nd place starting spot for the A Final. At the start, a field of motivated Pro E-buggy drivers funneled into the first turn. Billy paced off the TQ for about a lap and tried to find his groove. An early bobble dropped Billy to 5th, but he would quickly climb his way back to the front of the pack. Mr. Fischer put in nearly flawless run that saw him battling for lead just past the half way point of the Final.

In the final the racing would be tight and fierce and come down to who made the least amount of mistakes. In the end Tekin's own Austin Blair would take the overall win with his Tekin Rx8/Pro 4 powered Tekno truck. Right behind him was Tekin powered Ryan Lutz with his Tekin Rx8/Pro 4 Team Durango truck. 3rd place would be held by Tyler Vik with his Tekin Rx8/Pro 4 powered Tekno truck. All 3 drivers chose the Rx8 and Pro 4 4600 motor to take a podium position.

Creating genuine quasi-isotropic carbon fiber replacement shock towers was a good first step, but they went further, adding more camber link tuning positions on the rear tower. Weak links must be banished, so next a carbon fiber upper plate was designed to replace the stock plastic piece.

Swauger was quickly identified as the man to beat as he laid down some of the fastest laps early on. Race ResultsWith 1 win each, it was a duel for the win, in the last few laps, TQ Matt Olson regained his lead from an earlier mistake. Randy Cathcart made an unreal pass at the end of the back stretch, squeezing his truck in a spot under braking that it should not have fit, not touching the pipe, or Olson. Not to be outdone, Olson made a pass on the double-double to the inside of the left hander gaining the lead for the last lap, and held on for the win.

The reduction in rear toe-in decreases rear traction, which increases straightaway speed and corner speed for stock racers to optimize their lap times. For modified racers, less toe-in could be advantageous on high grip tracks. The new low roll center 2.5 degree pivot is hard anodized for added durability and laser etched for easy identification.

Race ResultsThunder R/C hosted the Tennessee Indoor State Championship Dec 28-30 to wrap up the R/C year in Nashville, Tenn. The track is small by U.S. indoor standards, but the lay-out was challenging and interesting; a good test for the Championship. X Factory drivers took home the hardware in Mod Buggy, Mod Truck, and Pro2 Short Course.

Race ResultsA Main Hobbies in association with BMiller Racing recently hosted the first-ever Pay It Forward Race at Outback Raceway to benefit the Torres Family Shelter in Chico, California. Racers came from throughout Northern California to participate in the festivities, donating toys for the 14 children currently residing in the shelter. In return, BMiller Racing provided the racers with a free raffle of more than $650 in racer-friendly RC products.
