Though very few new products are used for the first time at large races, instead developed over thousands of laps during private testing sessions, it's always exciting to spot a new product when it's finally used in public - even if it wasn't officially announced. Ty Tessmann headed out for the first round of open practice at Silver State with a new 1/8-scale buggy tire affixed to his HB D815, and it didn't take long for the news to spread around the pit area (it didn't hurt that he posted a photo of his car to Facebook).

Though it's still going through the development stage and has nothing molded into the sidewall, the new tire has already been named the "Suppressor." Square lugs are spaced and sizes between the Holeshot and Blockade tires, with two columns of shorter webbing weaving between the double rows down the center. The weaving pattern is repeated on the sidewall, connecting shorter pins.

According to Pro-Line's Daniel Adams, the tire's design was a collaboration between the in-house R&D team as well as the Tessmanns and Adam Drake, and he believes it's going to be a strong choice here at RC Tracks Las Vegas. "We've never really had that in-between tire for loose surfaces," said Adams.
