Every year, Joey "The Dirt" Christensen's Lonestar Nitro Challenge brings some exciting action to a small suburb outside of Austin, Texas. Thornhill Racing Circuit provided an exciting atmosphere and epic racing, and combined with the Hooligan RC Hobby Shop they hosted 358 entries for the fourth annual event.

Joey always likes to bring exciting ideas to the Texas-based event and this year was no different! A washed-out horseshoe tournament led to an epic washers tournament substitute. The Garrett Brothers came out as the winners and were quoted saying "the right amount of Lone Star buzz made this win happen."

The other notable idea was the use of the new LiveTime Scoring Engine feature, the joker lane, which allows for the use of a shortened lane in a race. In qualifying racers were allowed to use the shortened lane once whenever they wanted, and in the main they could use it twice. The strategy involved in using the joker lane proved both exciting and frustrating for quite a few racers, but overall it created an interesting turn of events and some great finishes!

As far as racing action, the Pro Nitro Buggy class was dominated by Jake Dellinger. Noah Dickerson made it a close race until he ultimately had to retire, leaving Tyler Hooks to finish second while Kurt Kellum earned the final podium spot after using his joker lane on the last lap!

In Pro Truggy, Noah Dickerson took a convincing win over Hooks - who had bumped up from the B-Main - and Aaron Breuer who held on for third.

Jake Dellinger won both of the double A-Mains in Pro E-Buggy to secure the overall victory, but it wasn’t that easy - Hooks led the first seven minutes of A2 with Noah Dickerson in second, which would have led to a three-way tie for first. However, Hooks dropped out early and left Noah to finish second with Aaron Breuer third.
