Cavalieri’s double victory, Tessmann’s 4WD win highlighted 20th annual Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout [VIDEO]

Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, CA hosted 161 entries this past weekend for the 20th annual Off-Road Shootout. Twelve different racing classes covered popular 1/10-scale electric off-road racing disciplines, as well as Electric 1/8-Scale Buggy, all of which competed over four rounds of qualifying and Triple A-Mains. The Shootout, which stands among the last of the old-school outdoor off-road races that has survived the decades, was hit with high winds on Sunday that wreaked havoc on the jump-laden course.

XRAY’s Ty Tessmann, who finished third in Open 2WD, and Rookie winner Tanner Ashmore combined to win the Pro Am event.
