Last Sunday marked the third round of the Mexican 1:8 IC Championship at the beautiful Ajusco RC Race Track in Mexico City. Herrero who started from second place on the grid, managed to finish the 40 min A Main on the top spot with 194 laps. The privateer Mugen driver had a fierce battle with Manuel Ortiz for the top spot. Manuel’s father Jorge, rounded up the top three for the day.
Herrero had this to say:
“I’m really happy with this result. Manuel had massive speed and it was hard to defend the position at the first half of the race. Eventually, we managed to pull a gap and just cruised to the end of the race”.
This result places Herrero on the top spot of the driver’s championship by two points, ahead of Manuel Ortiz. The next race will be held on March 17th in Mexico City.
