Mugen Seiki Race Report:

Last weekend the New Zealand Onroad Gas Nationals were held on the outdoor track at Ruapuna Raceway in Christchurch.

Qualifying was held with six 10-minute heats with the single fastest being used to determine the qualifying order. The weather was hot and the racing on the track was even hotter for the top spot. After six rounds of qualifying the top five cars were Mugen's, and the top three were Scot Robinson,Daniel Burrows, and Luke Duthie.

The final was a 45-minute race. Scot, Daniel, and Luke got off to a good start and were fighting for position from the beginning. Tire wear was high and most of the top runners were planning on changing tyres at 20 or 25 minutes. With people all on different fuel strategies it was hard to know who was going to win! The top three were all very close and not making any mistakes.

At the end of the race Scot Robinson crossed the line in first, just one second ahead of Daniel Burrows who was only one second ahead of Luke Duthie. The battle at the end of the final was very exciting as the drivers and pit men all did a great job under a lot of pressure!

It was a great weekend of racing and a great result for Mugen!
