Shepherd Race Report:

Last weekend Round 4 of the French 1:8 Onroad Nationals was held under sunny conditions at La Ferriere aux Etangs in Normandy, France. In qualifying it was Romain Picard how took TQ honors only 0.7sec in front of Shepherd driver Richard Volta who had to do an additional pitstop for fuel.

In the semi finals Richard was the fastest driver on the track leading from the start to the checkered flag taking the pole-position for the main final while Romain dropped out in the second semi final as he crashed his car.

From the start of the final, Richard controlled the race. With an easy-to-drive car and a good pit crew, he managed to keep a gap upon the rest of the field driving safely around the track. After 45min he crossed the finish line 5 seconds in front of Christophe Aygon with Christophe Louis completing the podium in 3rd place.

Coming down from the rostrum Richard said ”I really enjoyed the race, my Velox was really fast,” and without taking any risks he managed to set a new lap record of 14.22 seconds!
