Race Report by RC Skool - Tom How:

It was the deciding round of the RatRace series last weekend and we had some really tight points where 2 or 3 drivers could go home with the trophies. The RCSkool races were not at the series end as they have 2 more races to go. From the start of the series this was a new class of racing in Turkey and I am pleased to say we had a total of 53 new drivers compete, this was the first ever kind of number we have seen here in Turkey and still more drivers are buying cars ready for the summer series.

RCSkool Student Race

The students have come along in leaps and bounds since our last report, I think they are ready for some 1/10th buggies for next season.

Ahmet Öztürk again went home with the honours of TQ and 1st place followed by Bora Işik and Taylan Yurdadoğ (his first ever top 3 finish). Some students had problems with cars but it was a great race day for them.

4WD RatRace Final
We had a great race day with some very close racing to decide the overall Series top 3 positions with Kerem Duzgit and Kayhan Ketenci racing for the honours.

The race day was very close and both series contenders raced well with the last race being the decider for the day and for the series.

Race Day Placings were:
1st Kerem Duzgit
2nd Kayhan Ketenci
3rd Kemel Öztürk

The overall standings for top 3 in the series were:
1st Kerem Duzgit
2nd Kayhan Ketenci
3rd Serkan Tümer

2WD RatRace Final
This was the superstock class 2WD which was the most popular with a total of 34 drivers.

The two leaders and possible series winners were Deniz Aksüt and Alain Sarafyan, they both needed a win but even more so Alain who needed to beat Deniz and also make sure Deniz was placed lower than 2nd. This was such a superb end to the series and some of the best races we have seen between these two drivers who on the day were in a class of their own. The rest of us could only watch with excitement to see the A-Finals.

At the end of race day Alain did everything he could and drove to 1st place overall but it was not enough as Deniz came home in 2nd and won the championship by count back of TQ’s so a great days racing and a fantastic concluding finale.

Race Day Placings were:
1st Alain Sarafyan
2nd Deniz Aksüt
3rd Seyfullah Cakir

The overall standings for top 3 in the series were:
1st Deniz Aksüt
2nd Alain Sarafyan
3rd Taner Kaya

A fantastic result for all, and everybody is looking forward to more races coming soon!
