Race Report by X Factory:

The Ohio Excitement Outdoor Summer Series made its second stop of the season Saturday May 31st at Reagan Park in Medina, Ohio. The “E” in the series title has always stood for “Electric,” but this year 1/8 gas buggies and truggies are participating so the name has been changed.

Including the larger gas vehicles made quite a difference at the Medina track, as the track deteriorated during the day for the smaller 1/10 electric vehicles. However, the turn-out was good, with 14 total heats.

X Factory’s Paul Sinclair TQed and won both 1/10 buggy and short course. His X – 6 Cubed showed itself to maximum advantage as the track got rougher. Paul won all the qualifiers by a few seconds, then changed to softer shock oil and pistons for the main. His Cubed was on fire for the 10-minute A, when the track was at it roughest. Sinclair lowered his lap time by over a second from qualifying and took the main by more than a lap.

In short course, Paul had not driven his SCX – 60CF since Nick Sava used it at the Cactus Classic sugar track. Lacking time to re-build the truck, Paul borrowed Oldman Billy’s truck for the first two qualifiers, TQing round one. Sinclair had his own SCX – 60CF ready for round three, and TQed that as well. Again, with the track deteriorating, the slim, nimble SCX – 60CF showed the mid-motor advantage on rough tracks winning the A main by more than a lap.
