Alessio Menicucci Reports On XRAY On-Road GP In Lazzaro

On Sunday June 1st the XRAY GP took place at the Gimar Speed Park in Lazzaro in south Italy. Almost 60 drivers participated in this event, divided into various classes: Modified Electric, 1:8 Nitro, 1:10 Nitro and 1:5 Nitro. We were there from Saturday morning for free practice and the track had a good traction right from the start thanks to the sugar water on the asphalt.

Qualifying Modified Class Electric:

My car was very fast and consistent and it allowed me to take the Pole position in front of Alessandro Brunelli and Martin Hudy.

Qualifying 1:10 Nitro:

1:10 Nitro was the most populated class. Biagio Spataro was the top qualifier in front of Alessio Mazzeo, Davide Stefanizzi and Mario Spiniello.

Finals:

Modified Class Electric:

In the finals I made only minor changes on my car’s setup and it was as fast as in the qualifications so I won every final. After a tight fight Hudy took the 2nd place and Brunelli was 3rd .

Finals 1:10 Nitro:

This class showed more exciting fights than the other classes. Spataro was leading from the start to the last two laps when a mechanical problem forced him to leave the first position to Mario Spiniello who was driving a very consistant final. Also other fast drivers like Alessio Mazzeo and Salvatore Giliberto had mechanical problems at the start.
