Race report from Midwest Nitro Series (by Ryan Klemme):

As with most of my Race reports I like to try and describe the the race in one word. For River City Raceway it would have to be Gnarly, as the week leading up a lot of tension was focused on the use of a wood jump as a lot of racers were skeptical about safety and how it would be used. My opinion BRING ON THE WOOD JUMPS the RCR crew did a great job with the layout and really reminded me of years past at RCR. Not to mention several inches of rain poured onto the track just days prior but they whipped the track into shape again great job to everyone at RCR.
As always with out the awesome sponsors for the series and the great track crews that give us some killer layouts at each stop of the series this would not even be possible. So PLEASE support these companies because with out them none of us would be able to race this great hobby!
RC Scoring Pro, RW Mods, Advantage Racing Products, CSI, Competition Heat, Alpha, Panther, Max Amps, Picco, BuKu, VP PRO USA, RcRenew, LFR, Boca Bearings, Viper, 92Zero, PT Oils.
Pro 2WD SC would be the same story different race with Berry Newkirk taking the TQ and the win he really has had his truck working great at all of these races he seems to be the guy to beat in 2wd at MWNS events. Craig Schlegel put in a good effort to stop Barry but a few bad laps gave Barry to much breathing room and he was able to put it on cruise control. Chase Frea would take 3rd place just ahead of Blake Frea.

Pro 4WD would be all Allan Richards from start to finish putting a lap on Serpent driver Gregg McCarty who nudged out 2WD winner Barry Newkirk who had a few bad laps dropping him back Lee Vanderspool would finish in 4th a lap ahead of Mitchel Gilbertson.

Int Buggy A-Main would be TQ Bill Mason who would end up a lap up on second place Julian Malevanets who also finished a lap ahead of 3rd place Jeremy Sonnier who in turn had a lap over forth place Keith Gerken that's right top 4 cars all finished on their own laps which does not happen very often lap times were all on par with each other though so it just came down to mistakes and on this fast pace layout mistakes were costly.

Int Truggy would be a repeat of Int Buggy with Bill Mason taking the win and the top 4 finishing on their own laps. Travis Frea would end up finishing in second over Dave Smrekar with Jason Anderson taking forth place over George Nikolaou.

Pro Buggy A-Main would be all TLR driver Tyler Jones putting almost a lap up on fellow teammate and good friend Collin Weatherholt who did put a full lap on ex TLR driver now JQ driver Derek Weatherholt who would have a tight battle with Brad Shearer as they crossed the finish they would be separated by only 3 seconds after the 25 minute main Serpent driver Joe Sorwell would finish in fifth place.

Pro Truggy would be a battle between number 1 qualifier Tyler Jones and Brad Shearer with Brad Shearer taking the win after the 25 min final. Brian Delong would finish in third place a lap up on local driver and owner of Bones Motorsports Brent Bones and young gun Tyler Pattenaude would finish in fifth place Serpent driver Colton Kiefer would have problems putting him in sixth place.

E-Buggy A-Main would be the most exciting main of the night as the top seven drivers would finish only sixteen seconds apart after the 10 min final! TQ would go to TLR driver Collin Weatherholt who would take the win only seven seconds ahead of Allan Richards who nudged out Xray driver Nate Jaskot by a mere 3 seconds but they get even closer! Nate Jaskot would beat Serpent driver Joe Sorwell by only a half of a tenth of a second then Joe would beat sixth place Colton Keifer by two seconds and Rod Morney would finish only one second back to Colton! Now I do not care who you are that is some close racing.
