New JQ recruit Derek Weatherholt is a Midwest Monster

This past weekend JCP RC Raceway in Edinburg, IN hosted the rain delayed 1st round of the Monster of the Midwest Series. This race brought in many of the Midwests best drivers.

In qualifying Derek Weatherholt managed to grab overall TQ just ahead Jimmy Vanderharr, Kyosho Driver Shane Racer and cousin Collin Weatherholt with his 2nd round run.

In the 30 minute Main Derek and his Nitro Pro Fueled JQ Products White Edition got off to an early lead followed closely by Jimmy and Collin. Derek managed to lead every lap even with one extra pit stop but this was a very close battle from start to finish with all 3 staying on the lead lap. Jimmy actually got around Derek after a pit stop but Derek regained the lead before they got back to the loop.

Derek had the following to say.

"What a great race! 1st I have to thank the JCP Crew for another great event, these guys are top notch."
