TLR Pre-Cut Hi Performance SCT Body
$49.99

When it comes to choosing the body that works best for you, most people look for style and function. Being the kid who didn't pass "cutting on the lines" in kindergarten, I also take into account how easy or hard a body is to cut and mount. After searching the web and local hobby shops for the body that fit my needs, I finally found it. The all-new Team Losi Racing Pre-Cut Hi Performance SCT body, designed for the 22SCT, SCT, and SCTE. The body is precision cut to fit the TLR short course trucks like a glove, and requires you to only drill the mounting holes, which are easily marked on the body. The body features pre-cut vents (my least favorite thing to cut on a body) which help eliminate the "parachute effect" on big jumps and keep the electronics cool. Window masks and decal sheet is also included.

The body costs roughly $10 more than other bodies on the market which are not pre-cut. The added cost is a turn off for some, however, it is worth the extra $10 to avoid my signature beaver teeth cutting hack job in my opinion. The only thing this body is missing is a painter in each package to paint it up pretty for you.

JConcepts Radio Bag
$38.25

Most often when I travel to races we load up the family wagon and roadtrip across the country, however, lately I have been doing more and more race travelling by airplane. One major key to a successful airline trip is to take everything you need, BUT keep your bags as light as possible. Obviously to race you are going to need your radio, and I have always been accustom to carrying it in a heavy and bulky aluminum case. After the release of the new JConcepts Radio Bag line, I decided to trade in the metal case for one of these zip up, light weight, and pre-cut foam bags for my travels. Each bag is specifically designed to fit each model radio, therefore our Spektrum DX3R Pro fit perfectly in the pre-cut foam insert. To test it's durability I smashed it into the bag I checked at the front desk which was thrown, tossed, and tumbled in and out of the plane. While I was biting my nails worrying about my radio, the JC radio bag protected it with ease. The zip-up bag's light weight saved me an extra $25 in "heavy baggage fees" at each stop as well.

The JConcepts Radio Bag costs a few extra dollars than some of the generic "one bag fits all" radio bags on the market. We feel the precision fit, protection, and "Striker" print appearance is worth the extra pennies for serious racers, especially those travelling anytime soon.

Badger 250 Spray Gun Set with Propellant
$34.20

There are those certain people in the world who just make things difficult. Example being my father, "Homer", who paints his bodies all a solid yellow, but not just ANY yellow...a very special Homer yellow. To the rest of the racing community his yellow cars, no matter which version of yellow, all look like a banana running around the track. To him, however, he can tell what is yellow and what is HIS yellow. Needless to say he found HIS yellow, but it is no longer available in spray can form. Thus he decided it is time to buy an airbrush just to paint his bodies a solid yellow. Immediately I'm thinking this is going to be a big expense for his one color paint jobs, but then we found the Badger 250 Spray Gun Set with Propellant.

This nifty little setup includes a primitive spray gun, some twisty straw tubing, and a propellant can for under $35.00. Together with Homer's special yellow paint, we were able to achieve the solid yellow paint job just the way he likes it. Is this an airbrush kit for anyone looking to do elaborate paint jobs? No. This airbrush kit is very basic, and works well for one or two color paint jobs, and saves on the cost of an elaborate airbrush and compressor setup.

Seeing that we are beginner airbrush enthusiasts, we were hoping for a little more in the instructions regarding care and maintenance of the air brush before and after painting. While the paint job still looks good for a solid color, the inconsistency of the propellant can setup causes some unwanted change in pressure leaving light and dark spots periodically.
