AKA Tire Prep Cloth
$6.99

When it comes to tires, a racer's worst nightmare is watching them slowly come un-glued and fall off the rims midway through the race. Mounting tires isn't as simple as ripping them out of the bag and gluing them up. To ensure a solid hold on the rims, both the rims and tires should be thoroughly cleaned. It is a pain carrying around entire rolls of paper towels and motor spray JUST to glue up tires at the track. In an effort to pack light, we decided to try out the new AKA Tire Prep Cloth.

Sold in packs of 10, these nifty little wipes make tire prep and cleaning easy. Packaged up like the wet wipes you get at BBQ restaurant, simply rip open the package and start cleaning. The special AKA cleaning formula cleans dirt, debris, chemicals, and mold release instantly from your wheels and tires. Assuming you don't drop them right back in the dirt as we did after cleaning, your tires are spotless and ready to glue!

Pros:
  • Sold in packs of 10.
  • If used properly you can clean all four tires with one cloth.
  • Easily transported.
  • Takes up very little space in pit bag.

Cons:
  • Do not confuse these as wipes for your face after eating BBQ ribs, as your face will be burning clean.

Conclusion:
This is one of those simple ideas that make us think, "Why didn't we think of that?" For anyone gluing tires, looking to lighten up their pit bag, and get a solid hold on their tires, these are for you!

ProTek R/C Plastic Storage Container
$8.99

I think that we can all admit the word "organized" is not in most R/C racer's vocabulary list. In an effort to get organized we went container shopping. The local craft shops have some cheap containers that easily break, fall apart, and tend to have roses and butterflies molded on the lids. We then discovered the ProTek R/C Plastic Storage Containers. Available in small and large, we have a LOT of junk to organize so chose to go large.

The ProTek R/C storage containers are heavy duty with thick and solid dividers. Using all of the removable dividers gives you 24 - 2" x 1.75" compartments. Removing a few here and there and we were able to pack our tools, miscellaneous small accessories, and parts all into one box!

Pros:
  • Very durable design with solid latching lid.
  • Dividers fit snug so they won't fall out or move.
  • At 11.75" x 7.75" the large container is big on storage, but still fits in pit bag.
  • Customizable compartments.

Cons:
  •  A little more expensive than your average craft shop container.
  • The white lid latch gets rather dirty, rather fast with all of the grease covered hands latching and unlatching it.

Conclusion:
We are still far from organized, however, the ProTek R/C Plastic Storage Container did an excellent job of helping us get at least SOME of our stuff neatly packed away. The heavy duty lid latch holds tight even through the bounces and bumps of travelling, and the dividers stay in place keeping even the smallest parts separated nicely. All of this combined make the ProTek R/C storage containers well worth the extra few dollars.

MOTO 4 The Movie
www.motoxcinema.com
$27.95

Racing is racing, whether it is R/C cars, Formula 1, or Soapbox Derby...I love racing. With a background in motocross racing, I am always checking out the latest moto movies on the market. My latest purchase for my moto movie collection is "MOTO 4 The Movie". Why did I buy this movie you ask? Watch this trailer below, and tell me you don't have your wallet out ready to order it yourself...

Upon seeing this movie trailer I knew I HAD to order this video. I love seeing "behind the scenes" with professional athletes and their lifestyle, as while I would be sitting on the couch after work...they are out running 10 miles warming up for a late night work out session. MOTO 4 not only captures some great footage of some great riders, but it also takes you behind the scenes into the lifestyle of top motocross and supercross riders such as Carmichael and Dungey, top offroad racers such as Kurt Caselli and Taylor Robert, and just plain wild men like Taddy Blazusiak.

Pros:
  • Great footage and music.
  • Behind the scenes look at a dirt bike riders lifestyle.
  • Shows just a little of what it takes to be a pro rider.
  • Did I mention great footage and music?
Cons:
  • May or may not make you want to go fast...REAL FAST.
Conclusion:
For any racing enthusiast, especially two wheel enthusiasts, I highly recommend this movie as it captures some of the best riders in the world doing what they do best!
