Welcome to LiveRC's weekly column, "Talk-It-Up Tuesday!" Here we spend a little time talking with industry icons including racers, manufacturers, team managers, developers, promoters, and everyone in between! Sit back, relax, and go behind the scenes as we interview them all!

In R/C racing, it seems we are always busy talking with the fast guys, or the guy who designed this, or the guy who invented that. This week we decided to give the guys a rest, and meet up with our good friend and skilled racer, the one and only Ms. Lila Flinn!

LiveRC: Welcome Lila! You have been involved in R/C racing for quite some time, and are quite well known especially in your hometown of Las Vegas. You are not just a "weekend racer" however, you take racing pretty serious and have some skills behind the wheel! What are some of your biggest accomplishments as a racer so far?

Lila: The biggest accomplishments for me were being able to make my dad proud of me. Watching him smile when I did good was the best thing for me. It's not always about the trophies or who's the best racer, but for me it was always about making the ones who love me proud of me.

LiveRC: Do you have any current sponsors?

Lila: My current sponsors are JConcepts and MCG RACN.

LiveRC: What would you say is your favorite racing class, and why?

Lila: My favorite racing class was probably sportsman. Even though I moved up I still loved it. Even though it was a crazy class I still loved laughing all the time with everyone because that's what it was all about having a good time and enjoy it! "I do like to go fast" I had a 17.5 for so long, but unfortunately I missed making the quad without a problem. Lol!

LiveRC: What is it like racing primarily with all guys? Do you ever get intimidated?

Lila: Racing with all guys is actually pretty funny. They make me laugh because some act like girls in the worst way so to be intimidated by them isn't a possibility. They should be intimidated by me because I may be tiny but I'm still mighty.

LiveRC: Why do think there are so few female R/C racers out there?

Lila: I think there are only a few R/C racers that are girls because a lot don't know about the sport and many probably think it's a guy sport and not fun. Well if you did a survey and asked girls if they even know about R/C some would say what's that then the other would say what does R/C even stand for? So....I didn't know about R/C cars until my dad told me about them, but hey they're all missing out! I couldn't really give you an answer on why girls don't.

LiveRC: How do you explain to your friends who are on their way to cheerleading practice or the mall that you are too busy to hang out, because your making laps at remote control car track?

Lila: I've actually lost friends because I would always go to the track and always tell them I'm busy at the track and can't hang out. A lot understand now because it's a hobby I love and have fun doing it but I always make sure to hang out with them because high school only lasts so long.

LiveRC: Outside of racing you have a lot of interest in being a female news anchor correct? Tell us a little about that.

Lila: I've actually always wanted to be a news caster. It all started when I was probably 5-6 and was at my uncles house in Hawaii and instead of watching cartoons my uncle loved to watch the news. So one day I go up to his back door to the patio and start saying random stuff about Hawaii! I would say hi I'm Lila and today is Tuesday and there is a flower outside. Ever since then I would always have my fake Barbie laptop and sit at my grandparents table and report the news. So I think it just has stayed with me ever since then to become one.

LiveRC: Do you hope to work in the media side of R/C some day?

Lila: I've started to think about that lately because watching Betty JConcepts do her thing is pretty amazing. That would be something I would look at if news casting doesn't work out lol.

LiveRC: Typically trophies are handed out by trophy girls, if you could pick any pro R/C racer to be your trophy guy, who would it be and why?

Lila: That's funny you bring that up because when I have to stand next to a trophy girl it's usually really awkward and don't want them to put there arm on my shoulder...lol! I've actually had the biggest crush on Dustin Evans don't tell him. Shhh. Him being my trophy guy I wouldn't mind at all wink wink.

LiveRC: You are currently dating TLR driver James Raschko, correct? How often do you find yourself having to coach him around the track, and show him how to go as fast as you?

Lila: James is pretty amazing. I taught him everything he's knows. Actually I wish. He taught me pretty much everything. He's super fast and definitely knows what he's doing that's for sure. Thank you James for making me this cool!!

LiveRC: What is your favorite AND least favorite thing about R/C car racing?

Lila: Favorite thing about rc is the people I've met everyone is like a big family! The least thing I like is when people take you out and don't wait. I'm pretty nice and wait for people or if they're faster than me I let them go by because having good sportsmanship is the KEY.

LiveRC: Las Vegas is your home, when you aren't R/C racing what are you most like out doing? Are you an undercover poker champion, or slot machine guru?

Lila:
I'm Superman. Actually, I'm at home eating or cleaning my room over and over again...I get bored really easy. Sometimes I shop, I like to be a girl once in awhile. For one thing I'm sure not a tom boy. I may like R/C cars but hey glitter is my BFFF.

LiveRC: What is one thing most people don't know about Ms. Lila?

Lila: The two things people don't know about me is that I watch cooking shows. A lot. It's a big problem. I'm a sucker when it comes to "Brunch with Bobby"....then I'm also pretty strong. If you don't believe me ask James or my mom... My nickname is "superwoman." I only call myself that.

LiveRC: Where might we see you racing next?

Lila: OCRC is where Ill be next! Only because my aunt just moved over in that area and hey score! Free place to stay and track is 15 min away! Can't get better than that!

LiveRC: Lila, thank you so much for joining us today! We certainly look forward to chatting with you again soon, and hopefully seeing you at the track in the near future as well! Is there anything you would like to add before we go?

Lila: Thank you so much for having me! I really enjoyed doing this! Always remember that this is a hobby and you're supposed to have fun!!!
