Associated Electrics has been in the forefront of hobby-grade model car racing since 1964 from its humble beginnings making slot-car parts and accessories. Today, Associated Electrics has grown to be one of the leading manufacturers in the hobby of radio-controlled vehicles, designing and shipping thousands of radio-control cars and parts to hobby shops globally.

Associated Electrics is looking for talented and qualified individuals for their growing engineering team. Projects at AE are unique, challenging, and push the limits of industry standards on performance and value. Everyone on the engineering team helps to continue and strengthen AE's long history and racing legacy.

Engineer 1 - Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • BOM [bill of materials] creation and evaluation.
  • SPL [spare parts list] creation and evaluation.
  • Ability to manipulate 3D CAD components.
  • Ability to complete and evaluate 3D CAD assemblies.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary departments to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist other engineers to help meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork ethic.
  • Ability to work alongside international vendors to solve problems and keep projects on task.
  • Individual operates under general supervision within a framework of established policies and procedures.
  • Incumbents perform a variety of engineering and administrative tasks of limited to moderate difficulty. Opportunities for Engineer 1 Growth and Experience:
  • 3D CAD design.
  • 2D Drawing and GD&T [geometric dimensioning and tolerancing].
  • DFMA [design for manufacturing and assembly] optimization for many materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Sample and production QC evaluation.
  • FEA [finite element analysis].
  • SLS 3D printing.
  • Vendor communication.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred [relative / non-degree experience will also be considered]
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs [Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, etc.]
  • 3D CAD experience [SolidWorks preferred]
  • Previous RC Car experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated individuals with strong aptitude for problem solving and risk analysis.

Salary Range:
$60,000-$70,000 based on relevant work experience.
